SMS QR Code Generator

Create a QR code that opens a pre filled SMS on the scanner's phone, ready to send to your number with your message already typed. Useful for opt in lists, feedback requests, and quick customer contact.

What is an SMS QR code?

An SMS QR code encodes a phone number and an optional message body. When scanned, the receiving phone opens its default messaging app with the number pre filled and the message already typed. The sender just hits send.

Common uses include keyword opt ins (Text JOIN to subscribe), event RSVPs, feedback requests, and quick customer support. The recipient pays normal SMS rates, the QR doesn't change the mobile operator's billing.

How to generate an SMS QR code

  1. Enter the destination phone number

Type the number including the country code (for example +44 7700 900123).

  2. Enter the message (optional)

Pre fill the SMS body so the sender just has to press send. You can leave it empty if you want them to type their own message.

  3. Set size and DPI

Pick a print size in millimetres or inches, and an export DPI (150, 203, 300, or 600).

  4. Generate and download

Click download. For many SMS targets at once, switch to CSV mode and upload a spreadsheet, one image per row.

SMS QR code questions, answered

What is an SMS QR code?

An SMS QR code encodes a phone number and an optional message body. Scanning it opens the phone's messaging app pre filled and ready to send.

Do SMS QR codes work internationally?

Yes. Include the destination country code with a + prefix (for example +44 for the UK).

Does the recipient pay for the SMS?

The person sending the SMS pays their usual mobile operator rate. The QR code doesn't change the billing, it only pre fills the message.

Can the message be empty?

Yes. If you leave the message blank, the scanner opens an empty SMS to your number, useful for quick callbacks.
